Why is it we like to bite off more than we can chew? In life and in business?
I can bet without a doubt the course you’re thinking of creating right now is massive!! I mean, it probably has about 5 – 8 modules you’re wondering if it should have videos, worksheets and then you’re deciding how you’re going to package it up.
Am I right? I think I am.
But here’s the deal!
If you’re new to course creation, why bite off more than you can chew? Seriously, why?
I don’t know which online guru said that your first course has to be EPIC i.e a big, valuable ball of love, that’s going to stress you out and give you grey hairs in the process.
I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t. Don’t listen to them. It’s BS.
Don’t compare yourself to someone who’s been in business for years and say ‘I want my course to look like xyz’. I can bet hands down that person’s first course was bootlegged to the nines and looked nothing like what it does now.
I remember seeing a sales page for Marie Forleo’s first or second year of BSchool and it looks NOTHING like what it does now.
Seriously, you’re just torturing yourself. This mindset is leaving you stuck and not helping YOU or the people you’re supposed to be helping.
You’ve got to start somewhere and I’m giving you permission to start small and to start from where you are right now.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with creating a small but mighty mini course. Meaning, a mini course that solves just 1 problem your ideal customer. Here are some examples:
- 10 easy step-by-step meal plans for a gluten intolerant family
- A simple 3 step process to getting your hormones in check and getting your life back
- Create a magnetic dating profile to attract your dream man.
You see, the above examples cover 1 problem that a person, group or demographic has. Now if you’re able to solve that problem for them, then there’s no need to solve ALL their issues with a massive course if creating a mini course allows you to get moving and dip your toe in the course creation pool.
Nobody wants to get caught in the idea-cul-de-sac for months on end and not generating the extra revenue you want in your business #boring.
I want to hear from you, how long have you been wanting to create your online course and what small problem can you solve for your audience NOW to allow you to create your online course sooner rather than later?
